Briarcliffe College has been providing career education to Long Island residents for over 35 years.  Bethpage is the most recent of its three campuses.  Briarcliffe has three main goals:

Graphic Design Program

Briarcliffe’s Graphics Design program prepares you for a career in the rapidly changing visual communications industry.  You graduate with an Associate of Applied Science in Graphic Design—and the tools you need for your career.  You’ll learn the traditional principles and skills of good design and how to apply those skills to a variety of business and industry projects.  You’ll learn how to use the latest art media, such as digital imaging and animation and you’ll learn with software and technology that meets or exceeds current industry standards.

Graphics design has many applications. Briarcliffe students can specialize in print design, multimedia design, web design or animation.  As you work on projects, you’ll begin to develop your portfolio so that, by the time you graduate, you will be able to demonstrate your design skills to potential employers.

Accreditation

Briarcliffe College is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and is approved by the New York State Board of Regents.  The school is a member of the US Collegiate Athletic Association and the National Junior College Athletic Association and is seeking NCAA Division II membership.

Faculty and Facilities

Briarcliffe’s classrooms and labs utilize current technology and software similar to what you would find in today’s workplaces. 

Faculty members are professional instructors who are also have plenty of hands-on workplace experience.  Many hold advanced degrees and specialized certifications. 

Financial Aid

Financial aid is available for students who qualify for it.  All students are encouraged to apply for financial aid by completing a FAFSA form and contacting the Financial Aid Department.  Briarcliffe also participates in the New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) and has several transfer, merit and athletic scholarships.

BethPage, New York - a Great Place to go to school

Bethpage is a hamlet within the town of Oyster Bay in Naussau County, New York, on Long Island.  Thomas Powell purchased the land in 1695 from the native residents and began a settlement there.  It’s a lovely suburban community with lots of parks and recreational activities and with the ocean beaches and big city living right next door.

There are some very cool things to do in Bethpage.  Golf is a Big Deal there and Bethpage State Park has five golf courses.  They hosted the US Open in 2002 and will host it again in 2009. 

If you’re a history buff, you can visit a 19th century village or a lunar module.  Old Bethpage has an authentic recreation of an early 19th century village with a blacksmith, cobbler, schoolhouse, homes and church.  The Northrup-Grumman Historical Center maintains exhibits related to the town’s history in the aviation manufacturing industry, which includes a lunar module that was made in Bethpage.

Briarcliffe-Bethpage will give you a solid, hands-on education in Graphics Design that will prepare you for jobs in the visual communications industry.  You’ll leave with the foundational knowledge, up-to-date skills and professional attitude for success.
